Central University of Haryana B.Tech Review
Realities of Mahendragarh Campus: Placements, Cutoffs & Hostel Life
🔎 Is CUH Worth it for Engineering?
Central University of Haryana (CUH), located in Mahendragarh, has emerged as a solid government option for B.Tech aspirants. While it doesn’t rival top NITs, it serves as an excellent “Backup Option” for students with JEE Main ranks between 50k – 1 Lakh. Unlike many private colleges, it offers a central government tag with significantly lower fees.
Admission Process 2026
Contrary to some confusion, B.Tech admission is primarily through JEE Main via JoSAA/CSAB counseling. CUET UG is generally used for B.Sc/Integrated courses or filling vacant seats.
- Eligibility: 10+2 with 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Math (40% for SC/ST/OBC).
- Seats: Approx 60 seats per branch (CSE, Electrical, Civil, Printing & Packaging).

🎓 Final Verdict
If you are getting CSE or Electrical at CUH, it is a value-for-money option compared to Tier-3 private colleges charging ₹15+ Lakhs. The ROI is high, but don’t expect spoon-fed placements. You will need to hustle for off-campus opportunities or prepare for GATE.
