Two Distinct Branches
BHU offers two separate B.Tech degrees under this department:

- B.Tech in Dairy Technology

Alternative: NDRI Karnal
If you are serious about a career in Dairy Technology, your first preference should be NDRI Karnal. It offers better placements and a ₹ 1.4 Lakh scholarship!
6. BHU B.Tech: Pros vs Cons
✅ Advantages (Pros)
- BHU Legacy: NIRF Rank #4 (Overall Univ), resulting in unmatched brand value.
- Peer Group: Offers a highly competitive environment, great for UPSC/CAT/GATE prep.
- Diet/Mess: Regulated messes provide balanced food due to a strong student union.
❌ Disadvantages (Cons)
- Hostels: While everyone gets a hostel, the infrastructure is quite old.
- Strict Attendance: 75-80% attendance is strictly monitored.
- Lab Work: High physical lab workload (especially in Dairy Tech), which leaves less time for self-study.
Final Verdict: Should you join BHU B.Tech?
Join BHU if you want the “University Tag,” an affordable degree, and a brilliant environment to prepare for higher studies or government exams. However, if you want immediate high-paying corporate placements right after graduation, you might struggle since this is a newer department.
