No Central Entrance for Most UG Courses

Admission Mode – Merit vs Entrance

Mumbai University does NOT have a centralized university entrance exam for most regular undergraduate courses

Applicable Courses: B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, B.Com (Honours), B.A. (Honours) and most general undergraduate programs

Admission Process: Based purely on Class 12th Board Marks. No CUET or any central entrance required for most affiliated colleges

Cutoffs: Vary by college popularity and category

Engineering: MHT-CET or JEE Main scores required

Law (3 Year/5 Year): MHCET Law examination mandatory

Management (BMS/BBA): MHT-CET (Newly introduced requirement)

Top Colleges: St. Xavier’s College and Jai Hind College conduct their own entrance tests

Mumbai colleges have specific Minority Quotas which apply even to students from outside Maharashtra

Top Colleges: St. Xavier’s College, St. Andrew’s College, Wilson College, Sophia College
Reservation: 50% seats reserved for Christian students
Benefit: Significantly lower cutoff percentages for Christian minority applicants
Advantage: Better admission chances even with lower marks

Gujarati Minority: Mithibai College, NM College, UPG College (50% reservation)
Sindhi Minority: Jai Hind College, HR College, KC College
South Indian Minority: SIES College (Sree Mumbai)
Benefit: Preferential admission for respective linguistic communities

CRITICAL STEP: Without completing this, you cannot get admission in ANY Mumbai University college

Register on mum.digitaluniversity.ac (Official Pre-Admission Enrollment Portal)
Fill in personal details including name, contact information, and address
Enter academic details with Class 10th and 12th marks
Generate PNR Number: This unique number is mandatory for all college applications
Select preferred colleges and courses online (e.g., Mithibai College – B.Com)
Take printout of the University Registration Form for EACH college separately

⚠️ Warning: Simply filling individual college forms is NOT enough. University Pre-Enrollment with PNR Number generation is absolutely mandatory

Fees vary significantly between Government-aided and Unaided (Self-Finance) courses

Age Limit: Generally no upper age limit for UG courses

B.Sc. IT / Computer Science: Mathematics in Class 12th is usually compulsory
BMS / BBA: MHT-CET score now mandatory for many top colleges
B.Com (Honours): Mathematics or Accountancy in Class 12 may be required
Engineering: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics mandatory with minimum 50%
