No Central Entrance for Most UG Courses

Admission Mode – Merit vs Entrance

Mumbai University does NOT have a centralized university entrance exam for most regular undergraduate courses

📊 Merit Based (Class 12th)

Applicable Courses: B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, B.Com (Honours), B.A. (Honours) and most general undergraduate programs

Admission Process: Based purely on Class 12th Board Marks. No CUET or any central entrance required for most affiliated colleges

Cutoffs: Vary by college popularity and category

📝 Entrance Based Courses

Engineering: MHT-CET or JEE Main scores required

Law (3 Year/5 Year): MHCET Law examination mandatory

Management (BMS/BBA): MHT-CET (Newly introduced requirement)

Top Colleges: St. Xavier’s College and Jai Hind College conduct their own entrance tests

Minority Reservation System (Unique to Mumbai)

Mumbai colleges have specific Minority Quotas which apply even to students from outside Maharashtra

✝️ Christian Minority Colleges

  • Reservation: 50% seats reserved for Christian students

🖥️ MUM Digital University Portal Registration

  1. Register on mum.digitaluniversity.ac (Official Pre-Admission Enrollment Portal)
  2. Fill in personal details including name, contact information, and address
  3. Enter academic details with Class 10th and 12th marks
  4. Generate PNR Number: This unique number is mandatory for all college applications
  5. Select preferred colleges and courses online (e.g., Mithibai College – B.Com)
  6. Take printout of the University Registration Form for EACH college separately
⚠️ Warning: Simply filling individual college forms is NOT enough. University Pre-Enrollment with PNR Number generation is absolutely mandatory

Eligibility Criteria for Mumbai University

General Course Requirements
